Friday the 13th. Stay frosty.
As Iran lobs missiles at Israel it is important to consider the disparate impacts. Israel launched what can only be called a regime decapitation strike which took out big chunks of Iran’s command and control infrastructure. To this point Israel has not absorbed anything like that sort of loss. However the longer the mullahs stay in charge the less likely they are to be toppled and that is clearly Israel’s strategic goal. There have been no reports of uprisings against the regime from Persia’s multitude of ethnic minorities. It seems as if any such civil war would require a significant nudge from either the US or Israel. Stay tuned.
Given that Israel conducted an anti-air suppression raid from a drone base inside Iran this is wildly odd timing:
Later today, on the eve of the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday, I will raise my right hand, take an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and commission as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve’s newly formed Detachment 201: Executive Innovation Corps.
Receiving their commissions at my side will be some of the most impressive minds from the world of technology: Kevin Weil, the chief product officer of OpenAI; Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, the chief technology officer of Meta; and Bob McGrew, formerly the chief research officer of OpenAI and engineering director of Palantir Technologies, where I work as chief technology officer. … Over the course of World War II, GM’s Pontiac Motor Division turned out 47,026 anti-aircraft cannons. Today, Tesla factories have been known to produce new cars in less than a minute. Meanwhile, our defense industrial base measures progress in decades.
This isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about survival.
The drones are swarming today. Our adversaries aren’t waiting for our acquisition cycles or deferring to our budget processes. They’re building, iterating, and preparing for war.
America’s trillion dollar defense lobby seems to be on the cusp of a two track future. One, the Capitol Hill driven pork ridden nonsense of gold plated “weapon systems” and the other of applying the hard, nimble lessons learned from Ukraine and Iran. For one, the days of the Abrams battle tank owning the battlefield are over; they are dinosaurs. For those in the know there will be deep, deep irony in seeing them parading on the streets of DC tomorrow to celebrate the Army’s 250th anniversary.
Still need answers.

Hed of the week, non-Armageddon division:
The Marxist riots this weekend will be carefully planned, lavishly funded and have as their primary goal the creation of a Juan Floyd martyr. Stay far, far away.
Of course a government contractor in HR named La Wanda Moorer wanted fewer bonuses for white people.
Yep.
