So, what’s up? Two main points on the John Bolton raid. One, contrary to some takes this is a big deal; Bolton is Deep State royalty, a key player in the leak driven narrative control exercised by the Swamp and its stenographers in legacy media. Bolton got his start in the spooky web decades ago and has parlayed it into a pretty nice life via the combo of TV hits and speaking engagements. And books, like the $2 million advance he got for his last one. Which brings us to point two, the raid may be about his Trump-bashing tell all book. Or it may not be. Too early to tell. Yes, Bolton and his publisher did not technically get clearance for the book. But that does not mean that maybe some more recent activity triggered the FBI. For example, was Bolton the subject of a FISA spy warrant? We don’t know what we don’t know at this point. But I think we will very quickly know a lot more. Is this a limited hangout op or the start of roll up? Certainly Jim Comey, he of his “memos” which he laundered through a law professor buddy and has been dodging a conversion of government property to private use charge ever since, must be wondering the same thing.
